Chemicals at home

Use household cleaning products wisely

Most families buy lots of cleaning agents. Household chemicals are mixed with wastewater that finds its way into natural water systems, which in turn enter the soil. Stored household chemicals may also be dangerous, and residues of heated chemicals can enter the air we breathe.

There are no truly reliable ways to dispose of household chemical products. We can only try to minimise the harm they cause, so it is best to use them wisely and appropriately. When purchasing a product, read the label carefully and choose those that will do least harm to the environment.
