Alcohol has been consumed for thousands of years and is closely woven into the culture and religion of many peoples and nations. For many, the drinking of beer, wine, vodka or other alcoholic beverages is an integral part of everyday life.
Despite its widespread use and availability, society has always censured the immoderate consumption of alcohol. In Belarus, drunkenness has long been regarded as a great sin and shame and is still denounced. The excessive consumption of alcohol is frequently associated with criminal and social offences.
Drinking too much alcohol is harmful to health, regardless of age.
