Use energy-saving light bulbs

Ordinary electric-vacuum incandescent lamps are widely used because they are comparatively cheap. Energy-saving alternatives, whether fluorescent lights or light-emitting diodes (LED), are more expensive but are cost effective: energy-saving light bulbs use five times less energy and last eight times longer than incandescent bulbs.

It’s good to know:

  • Energy-saving bulbs are cleaner, and are an example of the more rational use of the planet’s non-renewable energy resources.
  • You can collect your energy-saving light bulbs for recycling after their useful life.
