The fly agaric has a cap that is vivid orange to scarlet red with numerous whitish spots. The cap is between 5 and 15 centimetres wide. The white stem is 2 to 3 centimetres thick, with a smooth white ring below the cap. The fly agaric is poisonous. It reproduces via powder-like spores.
The fly agaric grows abundantly in all types of forest, particularly under conifers. It can be found throughout Europe.
